00:26:39I'm addicted to crack.
00:26:53I do this, like, it instantly calms me down.
00:26:57I have adhd, and without me doing drugs, my mind's like a ball spinning down the road just nonstop, can't stop.
00:27:08As soon as I take my first hit, second hit, I could just sit there and breathe, and my brain doesn't go a hundred miles an hour.
00:27:21Crack gives me relief, and then I just keep chasing and want another hit, want another hit.
00:27:37The more he smokes, the more he wants.
00:27:39Like last night,he said he smoked $200 worth of crack, and he kept smokingit until he had no more to smoke.
00:27:47I think if he had$500 worth of crack, he would havesmoked all $500 worth of crack.
00:28:01Yo, you at the club?
00:28:03All right.you still need that?
00:28:08All right.how many you want?
00:28:09I feel badsaying this, but vinnie is definitely a thief.
00:28:14I-i'll be by therein a few minutes.
00:28:15If you need a car part, vinnie will steal it for you.
00:28:17Something that he couldke, he's gonna do it.
00:28:22He's gonna steal [bleep]and pawn it.
00:28:27[Whistles a tune] ["car door open" beep sounding] I'm known in hartford for one of the kids that could steal a car the fastest.
00:28:42I mean, I could bypass any alarm.
00:28:44Like, it's just as quick as you could by hittin' the button to bypass the alarm.
00:28:48And I like that, too, like when people, uh, need stuff, that I can be the guy, "oh, I can get that " Michelle: Vinnie doesn't care about consequences.
00:29:04It's horrifying seeing what he does to his body.
00:29:07Like, how can you just abuse your body like that?
00:29:10He's always coughing, and his face is-- has these big, dark sores on them.
00:29:15 it looks like-- like a robotic type of face, and his eyes bug out.
00:29:21..
00:29:25Lets this stuff destroy him.
00:29:33Have this crazyamount of pressure in my stomach, and I hate it.
00:29:37Like at least every day, every other day, I throw up acid, and I hate that.
00:29:42It's always in my chest, always in my throat all day.
00:29:46I just have that acid taste, that, uh, burning in my stomach.
00:29:53[Distant siren blaring] my biggest fear with vinnie in these neighborhoods buying drugs and doing drugs is that we're just gonna find him dead.
00:30:11That's what I see in vinnie's future if he doesn't get help, that I'm going to be going to his funeral, and I don't know if I could handle that.
00:30:32When vinnie was born and we saw it was a boy, his father was real happy.
00:30:37He called his family in italy, and they were very, very excited that vinnie was-- vinnie was the first to carry on the name.
00:30:46Vinnie was the cutest, cutest little kid ever.
00:30:49He just always had this giant smile.
00:30:53Ah, he was so cute.
00:30:55He was just this fat little marshmallow with dark hair, and he was always on the go, no matter what.
00:31:01Vinnie just always wanted to--to run.
00:31:06My sister came to visit me, and she was very, um, into the horoscope and all that, and she told me that he was gonna make my life hell, he was gonna be a handful, and he has been.
00:31:23He was a little devil.
00:31:25He wasa little devil.
00:31:26Out of control, hyper, so much energy.
00:31:29The teachers used to tell my parents that I was just a troublemaker.
00:31:32I used to do whatever I could to be the center of attention.
00:31:38Vinnie's hyperactivity was getting worse.
00:31:42..
00:31:43A lot of the mothers didn't want their kids playing with vinnie.
00:31:48I was having fun.
00:31:48I didn't know that it was wrong.
00:31:50I didn't know it bothered everybody, but I used to do it to make people laugh, to make it a joke.
00:31:55My heart ached every day for vinnie, the fact that this is my child and I love him so much, but there were so many days I didn't want him around.
00:32:17Ritalin made me feel retarded, like it slowed me down so much where I felt like a zombie.
00:32:22Most of the time, I would just spit it out, 'cause the nurse would give it to me every day, and I didn't-- wouldn't even take it.
00:32:30My parents, they didn't know how to handle vinnie, you know, especially my dad.
00:32:35He didn't know what he was doing.
00:32:37Like, if they fall down, his first instinct would be to smack 'em and say, you know, "look at "
